Inge Burger

Speech-Language Therapist | Founder

I graduated with a B.Sc. in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Cape Town (UCT) and completed my community service in Calvinia, where I gained valuable experience working with a diverse range of patients and communities.

In 2016, I established Inge Burger Speech-Language Therapy Inc. in Bellville, and I am incredibly proud to have owned and grown the practice over the past 10 years. Today, our practice provides speech-language therapy to both paediatric and adult patients, with a strong focus on individualised, evidence-based and compassionate care.

My special clinical interests include the management of acute and medically complex patients, particularly those in ICU and hospital settings, as well as neurodiverse adults and children. I have a particular interest in supporting individuals with neurological and communication difficulties and helping patients and their families navigate the challenges that can accompany these conditions.

Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy spending time doing something creative, with painting and pottery being some of my favourite ways to relax and recharge.

I am passionate about professional ethics, collaboration and building a supportive community within speech-language therapy. I serve on both the SASLHA Ethics Committee and SASLHA Private Practice Committee, and believe strongly in therapists supporting and learning from one another to provide the most ethical, effective and compassionate care possible.

abigail

Abigail Tolmay

Speech-Language Therapist

My name is Abigail Tolmay and I am a Speech-Language Therapist with a special interest in working with school-aged children, particularly in the areas of early literacy and language development. I completed my community service year in Upington, where I gained valuable experience working with a diverse range of communication and swallowing needs.

I especially enjoy working with children and being part of their journey as they learn to read and write. I love seeing those moments when something clicks and a child discovers the joy and confidence that comes with learning. I also have a love for languages and enjoy exploring how language develops and supports meaningful communication. In addition, I have a special interest in feeding therapy, including working with babies and adults across a range of feeding and swallowing needs.

My approach to therapy is warm, supportive and individualised, with a focus on making therapy meaningful and engaging.

Outside of work, I am an avid reader and a lover of languages, flowers and a good cup of coffee. I also enjoy movement-based activities, especially dance.

My name is Ashleigh Stevens , I am a Speech-Language Therapist who studied Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Cape Town. I completed my community service year serving the Springbok community in the Northern Cape, before joining Inge Burger Speech Language Therapy Inc. in 2025.

I have a special interest in working with neurodiverse populations and early intervention, while also enjoying working with adults across a range of communication and swallowing needs. My approach to therapy is family-centred, child-led and grounded in evidence-based practice, with a focus on creating meaningful and engaging therapy experiences. I love creating supportive, meaningful spaces where communication can flourish.

Outside of work, I love reading and baking. So when I’m not helping people find their words, I’m usually getting lost in someone else’s or following a recipe.
